Proving you can support your stay (financial documents)
For a visitor extension you must show enough money to cover your time in the U.S. without working without authorization. The most common proof is your recent bank statements showing a stable balance. If someone else pays for you (a parent, spouse or sponsor), include their bank statement plus a short signed letter from them saying they support you and how — that companion letter is required whenever the financial document is in someone else’s name.

My bank statement is in another language — is that a problem?
USCIS requires a full English translation for any non-English document, with the translator’s signed certification. Upload the original — the assistant will tell you when a certified translation is needed and our office can help produce one.
